International Competencies Provided by Forestry Education in Finland

This publication is an abridgement of a report by a Finnish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry committee on the provision of international competencies by forestry education in Finland. The report is part of a national programme (Suomen metsäosaamisen vienti) headed by the Finnish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry aimed at promoting the export of Finnish forestry expertise.

The purpose of this abridged version is to bring to light the international competencies currently provided by forestry education in Finland. The information has been compiled from the websites of the relevant Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences and supplemented by a questionnaire survey sent to each of these institutions. Together with the questionnaires, a preliminary internationality survey was also sent to each of the universities and institutions for review, and this was subsequently completed using the questionnaire results. The information presented is not comparable across the board due to differences in statistical reporting between institutions.
