This website presents the Finnish National Agency for Education EDUFI’s different programmes and actions aimed at supporting educational cooperation with partners from the Global South. The purpose of the website is to increase the multi-stakeholder cooperation related to national and international funding and to increase the cooperation carried out with developing regions.
On the website, you will find good practices related to the theme, results of different projects and information on different funding programmes for educational cooperation conducted with developing countries.

FinCEED - Centre of Expertise in Education and Development

The aim of the Centre of Expertise in Education and Development is to strengthen Finland’s role in finding solutions to the global learning crisis and promote the use of Finnish expertise in education and development.

Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) are high-quality international study programmes delivered jointly by several higher education institutions.

Jean Monnet Actions
Jean Monnet Actions support teaching, learning, research and debates on various aspects of the European Union in different education sectors. Higher education institutions as well as organisations and NGOs involved in higher education from almost all over the world can participate in Jean Monnet Actions for higher education.

HEI ICI Programme
The Higher Education Institutions Institutional Cooperation Instrument (HEI ICI) supports cooperation projects between higher education institutions in Finland and the developing world that are designed to enhance higher education provision in these countries.

Higher Education Partnership (HEP) Programme
The Higher Education Partnership Programmer (HEP) 2023-2026 supports collaboration projects between higher education institutions (HEIs) in Finland and in developing countries.

Team Finland Knowledge
The purpose of the Team Finland Knowledge programme is to create and strengthen cooperation between Finnish higher education institutions and the target regions and countries selected to the TFK network, and to design new operating models for cooperation.

EDUFI traineeship
Higher education students and recent graduates can apply for traineeships through us. Many of the placements are in developing countries.

EDUFI Fellowship
Are you looking for a scholarship to help you recruit a foreign student to do doctoral research? The EDUFI Fellowship is intended, particularly, for providing initial funding to carry out research for a doctoral thesis in Finland.

Erasmus+ Youth (in Finnish)
In Erasmus+ Youth projects it is possible to cooperate with developing countries in all actions except DiscoverEU.

European Solidarity Corps (in Finnish)
Cooperation with developing countries is possible in all Solidarity Crops volunteering actions. Novelty in 2022 is volunteering in humanitarian aid, which is administered by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) of the European Commission.
