Children and young people who have fled the war in Ukraine and reside in Finland have a right to basic education on the basis of their residence in Finland, and it is important to get them back to school as soon as possible. Instruction preparing for basic education supports their readiness to start in basic education in Finland.

Yle Kielikoulu – Yle Språkskolan ("Yle language school") is a service enabling you to study Finnish or Swedish by watching the Finnish public broadcasting company Yle’s media content in an application or a browser. Kielikoulu is aimed at immigrants and other Finnish and Swedish language learners. The support languages include Ukrainian.

The Ministry of Education and Science in Ukraine offers distance teaching based on the Ukrainian curriculum to different grades according to a weekly schedule.

The Swedish publisher "Natur och Kultur" has co-operated with a Ukrainian learning materials publisher to provide a list of learning materials that can be used when studying according to the Ukrainian curriculum. The Ukrainian publisher "Ranok" has opened the electronic versions of its learning materials for free download for teachers and pupils.
The All Ukrainian School Online platform contains videos, tests and materials for independent learning in 18 subjects to pupils from grades 5-11. The use of the materials is free, but requires registration.
Atmospheric School distance school provides free access to their Attendee package, which contains learning materials for grades 5-11. The website requires registration.
Optima distance school provides free access to their learning materials for grades 1-11. The use of the materials is free for a set period of time. The website requires registration.
Jamm School provides learners with free access to their platform, which contains learning materials for grades 5-11. The website requires registration.
The National Centre of Multicultural Education (NAFO) in Norway has put on its platform Tema mosrmål a collection of Ukrainian stories in Ukrainian and Polish
The National Library of Sweden has put together a website with links to different publishers offering materials in Ukrainian. The page is in Swedish, but the links point to materials in Ukrainian.
ILT Education has decided to open up their multilingual digital book service for young children, Polylino, for Ukrainian families to use for free outside of the classroom. Ukrainian refugees will be able to access all of the books for free, including those which can be listened to in Ukrainian.

The website Lets Learn without Borders! offers psychological help and support to Ukrainian children, parents and teachers.
Protect Children, in collaboration with Fun Academy, has published The Kip Crew Manages Their Worries – an activity booklet for children aged 4-9 years to help them think about and manage their worrying feelings, and in particular to address worries and fears caused by the war in Ukraine and to restore a sense of security. The booklet is available in over a dozen languages, including Ukrainian.
NUMO distance learning kindergarted offers children aged 3-6 a collection of short videos on different themes (e.g. me and adults, me and feelings, me and creativity, me and my needs, me and the environment)
