Vocational education can also be provided in workplaces through training agreements or as apprenticeship training alongside practical work tasks. There is open access to apply for vocational education, and no specific residence status or citizenship is required. Decisions on student admission are made by the education provider after assessing the applicant’s ability to complete the studies.

Municipal employment services also provide information on opportunities to acquire and update skills. People under the age of 30 can receive guidance and advice on education at Ohjaamo service points across the country.
