Lifelong Guidance in Finland

Information and support for guidance professionals

Lifelong learning has become increasingly important as society is changing and evolving. Guidance related to lifelong learning helps individuals to identify their abilities, competence and interests in the different stages of their life. Guidance also supports them in making decisions on their education and career and in managing their life path.

On this website, we have compiled information on guidance at different levels of education as well as information on other guidance services and guidance operators in Finland and across the world. Lifelong guidance is provided by information, guidance and counselling services in education, employment and the youth sector. The work is guided by the Government's Lifelong Guidance Strategy for 2020-2023.
