Europass and educational institutions

Europass is a service that all people, regardless of their age, nationality or educational background, can recognize and present competence they have accuired. Educational institutions can support their students and graduates in regocnizing their competence, learning and internationalization. 

Educational institutions will grant their students and graduates diplomas and supplements, that will help them to apply for job and study positions in other European countires. From the perspective of educational institutions, especially supplements and mobility documents are important, and educational institutions are partially responsible in delivering them to their students. 

Educational institutions can encourage their students and graduates to use Europass, instruct in using Europass, and include Europass as part of their teaching. Europass helps students and graduates with reflecting and planning their own visions for their studies and career, both nationally and internationally. 

Finnish National Agency for Education is the national Europass centre, and support educational institutions in issues related to Europass.

Europass Mobility document

Europass Mobility is a document, which shows periods that person has spent in another European country for educational purposes, such as in training. Educational institutions will grant the document to students. 

 

Europass Certificate Supplement

Vocational education training's Europass supplement Certificate Supplement provides information about the completed training, and professional qualification and competence it has provided. Educational institutions will make sure, that graduates will have the supplement. 

 

Europass Diploma Supplement

Higher education degree's Europass supplement Diplom Supplement will provide information about the completed degree, the granting institution, and education system in the country where the diploma is granted. Educational institution will grant the document.

 

Europass Digital Credentials

European Commission is developing a common European digital credentials infrastructute (EDC) to support efficient and secure use of competence documents in Europe. Competence documents that can be presented and verified through the service are for example, training diplomas and higher education degree diplomas.

Glossary of Europass is a glossary created by the Finnish National Europass Cenre. It includes key concepts of Europass. It has been made to support users of Europass, educationl institutions and stakeholders, and to offer transparent information about the key concepts of Europass. The glossary is constantly being updated in collaboration with users of Europass, and we will gladly hear feedback about it. The glossary is also available in Finnish and Swedish.
