Applications for funding for learning mobility (actions under KA1) and Cooperation Partnerships and Small-Scale Partnerships (actions under KA2) are submitted through EDUFI. The deadline for applications for actions under KA1 is 13.00 Finnish time (12.00 CET) on 11 May 2021 and the deadline for actions under KA2, managed by the Finnish National Agency for Education EDUFI, is at 13.00 Finnish time (12.00 CET) on 20 May 2021.

The deadlines for actions for which the application is submitted to the European Commission are between May and September

The applications for some of the grants in the Erasmus+ programme are submitted directly to the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency EACEA in Brussels. These actions include Erasmus+ Sport, Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees, Centres for Vocational Excellence and Jean Monnet actions. A new action with applications submitted directly to EACEA is Erasmus+ Teacher Academies, which is aimed at developing European cooperation in teacher education. The deadlines for applications under these actions are between May and September. The details and deadlines of each action will be available on the EACEA website and we will also publish information on them on EDUFI’s website.

For some of the actions managed by EACEA, calls will not be organised in 2021. Such actions include Capacity Building for Higher Education and European Universities, for which calls will not be organised until 2022.

Guidance for applying available in April

More detailed instructions for applying and the Programme Guide will be updated on EDUFI’s website as soon as possible. In addition, it is advisable to explore the content available on our website, such as Are you new to Erasmus+? and How to plan an Erasmus+ project.

In April, we will organise guidance for applying for the different actions in the Erasmus+ programme. Information about briefings for applicants will be communicated in our email lists and in social media (Twitter and Instagram). EACEA also organises briefings on its own for the actions managed by it. The dates and times of these briefings will be updated both on the EACEA website and in EDUFI’s event calendar.

Erasmus+ programme period 2021–2027

In the new programme period, the priorities of Erasmus+ and its sister programme (European Solidarity Corps) are inclusion, digitalisation and environmental responsibility. Participation in the programmes is facilitated so that newcomer organisations and small organisations can also benefit from the opportunities provided by the programmes.

Environmental responsibility is another important theme. The objective is to reduce the carbon footprint of international cooperation and periods abroad by favouring environmentally friendly forms of travel where possible. The programmes will also increase the environmental awareness of participants and organisations and their commitment to sustainable development. In addition, the programmes aim to make better use of the opportunities provided by digitalisation in international cooperation for example by supporting blended learning and online cooperation.

The goal of Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps is also to strengthen European identity. The programmes aim to raise awareness and understanding of the European Union matters, the common values of the EU and the principles of diversity and belonging to a community.
