Terms and conditions for registering for YKI tests changing in January 2025
Places for as many people as possible
The YKI tests are very popular, and there have not always been enough places for everyone in the tests.
The Finnish National Agency for Education wants to ensure that there are places for as many people as possible in the YKI tests. This is why the Finnish National Agency for Education has updated the terms and conditions for registering for the YKI tests.
The changes apply to all registrations
The new terms and conditions apply to all registrations. If you have registered for a YKI test before 1 January 2025, you can reschedule your registration only once after 1 January 2025.
The new test must take place at the same test centre as the original test and within one year of the original test date. If the next YKI test of the same language and level takes place more than one year after your original test date, you can reschedule to that YKI test.
How to reschedule your registration
If you cannot take the YKI test due to illness or some other reason, you may take the next available test at the same test centre. If you wish to do so, please submit a rescheduling request to the test centre. It is important that you submit your rescheduling request before the original test begins.
Terms and conditions for registration from 1 January 2025 onwards
- You cannot change the level of the YKI test.
- You cannot change the language of the YKI test.
- You cannot change the test centre.
- Registration is personal. You cannot change the participant’s personal information.
- If you cannot participate in the test that you registered for, you may reschedule your registration once for another YKI test of the same language and level at the same test centre.
- The new test day cannot be more than one year after the original test day.
- If the next YKI test of the same language and level is held more than a year from the original test day, you may reschedule your registration to the next YKI test of the same language and level.
