Erasmus+ for higher education supports the international collaboration of higher education institutions as well as the mobility of students, teachers, and staff. The programme also promotes the internationalisation and quality of higher education.

In the 2026 call, the Erasmus+ programme will strongly support the EU’s Union of Skills initiative and the EU Preparedness Union Strategy by promoting the development of basic skills, enhancing the attractiveness of the teaching profession, and fostering entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as the recognition of skills and integration into the labour market.

At the same time, the programme will reinforce the objectives of the European Innovation Agenda by developing digital skills and competences in future-oriented fields such as the green transition, artificial intelligence, robotics and the data economy.

In addition, Erasmus+ will continue its work to mitigate the socio-economic and educational consequences of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine by supporting education, inclusion, and the activities of Ukrainian learners and organisations.
