Digital YKI certificates are ready
Who gets a digital YKI certificate?
You will receive a digital YKI certificate if both of these conditions are met:
- You took the YKI test on or after 1 April 2026.
- You provided your Finnish personal identity code when you registered for the test.
Once the assessment of your YKI test is complete, the certificate will be issued to you automatically. The Finnish National Agency for Education will send you a letter or a Suomi.fi message with instructions on how to download your digital YKI certificate.
Who gets a paper YKI certificate?
If you do not have a Finnish personal identity code or do not use Suomi.fi Messages, the Finnish National Agency for Education will send you a paper YKI certificate by post.
If you took the YKI test on or before 31 March 2026, you will have been sent a paper YKI certificate. In this case, you cannot download a digital YKI certificate.
How can I use the digital YKI certificate?
If you have been issued a digital YKI certificate, you can download it from the My Studyinfo service:
- Log in to My Studyinfo.
- Select My completed studies.
- Open the details of the YKI test under the National Certificate of Language Proficiency section. If you have taken the YKI test more than once, please make sure that you open the details of the correct test date.
- Download the YKI certificate in Finnish, Swedish or English.
The digital YKI certificate has an electronic seal that indicates that it is genuine. When you download the certificate, its seal is valid for one year.
You can download the certificate again whenever you want. When you do, the certificate will have a new seal.
