Invitation to a survey: help develop the Europass Certificate Supplement

The European Commission is collecting stakeholders’ experiences and views to improve the Europass Certificate Supplement. The aim is to revise the document to better reflect current labor market conditions and the needs of society. The link to the survey can be found below.

The Europass Certificate Supplement is a document that helps employers, educational institutes, recognition bodies, and other stakeholders to understand the qualification’s purpose, level, learning outcomes, and the corresponding national educational system. The document advances the transparency of qualifications across borders and sectors, supporting employability and mobility.

We invite you to participate in a short survey designated to gather valuable insight for improving the Europass Certificate Supplement. The aim of the revision is to ensure that the Certificate Supplement meets the needs of today’s labor market and society and serves both individuals and organisations even better.

The aim of the survey is to gather information on the current use of the Certificate Supplement, including any challenges. The survey also provides the opportunity to give feedback on the Certificate Supplement’s future, including digitalisation, its structure, and possibilities for expanding its use cases.

Who should participate and how to take part?

Two separate surveys have been carried out to address different target groups. Please select the option that corresponds to your profile:

Survey for stakeholders (employers, policymakers, education institutes, and other interested organisations)

This survey focuses on the use, issuance and future development of the Certificate Supplement. Answering the survey takes under 10 minutes (9 questions).

Survey for learners and workers (private individuals)

This survey focuses on individuals’ experiences with the Certificate Supplement, as well as how it can be improved and made more user-friendly. Answering the survey takes under 5 minutes (7 questions).

Further information

This survey is launched as part of the work of a joint project group of the European Qualifications Framework Advisory Group and the Europass Advisory Groups (AG). The final aim of the project group is to propose an approach for the possible revision of the Europass Certificate Supplement, the role of national CS inventories, the scope of the CS and options for its possible digitalisation. This work builds on the work on short description of learning outcomes which led to the publication of guidelines in 2024.
