Diverse international activities, cooperation and mobility are funded in the Erasmus+ programme.

Mobility projects provide learners with opportunities for learning experiences and/or gaining vocational experience abroad. For staff, mobility periods offer professional development, networking opportunities and exchange of good practices. 

Cooperation projects can be used to exchange good practices, develop curricula, plan joint degree programmes and develop policies in the fields of education, training and youth.

 

In Finland, there are two ways to apply for funding from the Erasmus+ programme:

  • from the Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI), which is the National Agency for the Erasmus+ programme 
  • from EACEA, European Education and Culture Executive Agency.

Erasmus+ funding that can be applied for from EDUFI means that the European Commission has allocated some of the budget for the Erasmus+ programme to Finland to be further allocated at the national level. For these activities, EDUFI as Finland's Erasmus+ National Agency makes the funding decisions and distributes the available funding between Finnish applicants. 

As a rule, the calls for applications for funding that is applied for from EDUFI are open once a year in spring. Youth projects are an exception as three calls for proposals are organised every year.

The 2025 application deadlines are:

Learning Mobility (actions under KA1)

  • staff mobility in the field of sport and mobility projects in the field of youth 12 February 2025 at 13:00 Finnish time (12.00 CET)
  • mobility projects in the fields of school education, VET, higher education, and adult education 19 February 2025 at 13.00 Finnish time (12.00 CET). 
  • mobility projects in the field of youth have a second application round in Autumn; the deadline is 1 October 2025 at 13.00 Finnish time (12.00 CET) 
  • DiscoverEU inclusion action 12 February 2025 at 13.00 Finnish time (12.00 CET)  

Partnerships for Cooperation (actions under KA2)

  • Small-Scale Partnerships: 5 March 2025 at 13.00 Finnish time (12.00 CET) 
  • Cooperation Partnerships: 5 March 2025 at 13.00 Finnish time (12.00 CET) 
  • Small-Scale Partnerships in the field of youth have a second application round in Autumn; the deadline is 1 October 2025 at 13.00 Finnish time (12.00 CET) 

Erasmus+ accreditations

  • Erasmus+ accreditations in VET, school education and adult education and in the field of youth 1 October 2025 at 13.00 Finnish time (12.00 CET) 

Instructions for applying for mobility projects (KA1)

For other sectors than higher education, the instructions are available only in Finnish and Swedish.

Erasmus+ funding applied for from the Executive Agency means that Finnish applicants compete with applicants from all other countries for funding under the action in question. Grant decisions are made at EACEA, European Education and Culture Executive Agency.  

For funding for the Erasmus+ actions listed below, apply directly to the Executive Agency EACEA. As a rule, the calls for proposals for these actions are open once a year. The application deadlines are between February and June 2025. 

NB! There will be no call for the European Universities action in 2025.

When the calls have opened, we will organise briefings for the applicants online. You will receive basic information on the rules for the action in question, instructions for drawing up the budget and tips for writing an application that is convincing and of a high quality.
