SALTO Digital supports the implementation of the Digital transformation priority in EU programmes by producing expert information, conducting research, sharing good practices from completed projects and publishing diverse material for the use of national agencies and organisations that participate in the programmes.
The Resource Centre supports the national agencies of all programme countries at the level of the whole EU. It also works directly in cooperation with the European Commission. The SALTO Digital Resource Centre operates in all educational sectors as well as in the field of youth, in other words, in five different sectors.
The priorities of the Centre's operation are the digital ecosystem of education and youth work, digital competence, digital pedagogy, digital and virtual cooperation, and virtual exchanges in EU programmes. The key themes include the impact of digitalisation on education, working life and the wider society, and promoting AI and STEAM competence with EU programmes.
The operation of the Resource Centre is linked to promoting the underlying EU strategies for education and youth. Examples of these are the Digital Education Action Plan 2021–2027 and the Council of the European Union's conclusions on digital youth work.
