Some of the projects in the youth sector are aimed directly at young people so that they can personally plan the projects with the support of the project supervisor. An individual young person cannot apply for a project grant; instead, they must always be part of a larger group of young people. The applicants in the projects are organisations or informal groups of young people.
The countries participating in a youth exchange establish their own groups of young people. These groups consider together what and how they would like to learn during the joint meeting.
Mobility of youth workers provides youth workers with an opportunity for developing their professional competence in international collaboration. Those involved and working with young people get to consider issues they seek to resolve together with colleagues from countries participating in the project.
Youth participation activities provide young people between the ages of 13 and 30 with opportunities to try out new ways to increase participation, consultations of young people and empowerment.
DiscoverEU offers 18-year-old young people a rail travel experience in Europe. The DiscoverEU Inclusion Action is aimed at young people between the ages of 18 and 21 who need additional support to participate in a DiscoverEU rail journey.
Partnerships for cooperation develop the youth sector and create opportunities for the sector to respond to current challenges. Participating organisations gain experience of international cooperation, develop ways of working and produce useful outputs and results.
Those working with young people can apply for free international training. The short empowering training periods guide the participants in the practices of projects in the Erasmus+ youth sector, among other things. The training also provides you with tips on the best practices or searching for project partners.
Your organisation can evolve and develop youth work
Organisations are mainly the applicants for projects in the youth sector. They play a key role in providing young people and those working with young people with opportunities for participation and internationalisation.
All Erasmus + projects in the youth sector also involve organisations learning, networking and building up their own international functional capacity.
As a youth organisation, you will also have an opportunity to develop youth work and seek solutions to common challenges, either within your sector or in extensive multidisciplinary European cooperation. Whether you are a large youth sector operator or a small hobby group, you will be given the opportunity to develop your own activities together with international partners.
