Eight projects involving Finnish higher education institutions have been awarded Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) funding for the organisation of joint master's programmes. In two of these projects, Finnish institutions act as coordinators: Åbo Akademi University and the University of Eastern Finland. Åbo Akademi, Aalto University, the University of Jyväskylä, and the University of Eastern Finland are participating as partners in six projects.
A total of 195 applications were received across Europe in this round of which 37 were funded, resulting in a success rate of 20%. The selected consortia included an average of 28 organisations and the average EU grant awarded was approximately €4 million.
One project involving a Finnish higher education institution received Erasmus Mundus Design Measures (EMDM) funding, aimed at preparing joint master's programmes. In this project, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences is participating as the coordinating organisation.
