The instructions on this page are intended for you if
- you have received a conditional decision issued by the Finnish National Agency for Education on the recognition of professional qualifications (Act 1384/2015 or Act 1093/2007) or on eligibility for a post in ECEC in Finland and
- the decision requires you to complete an adaptation period or an aptitude test.

The decision states what post in ECEC you will be eligible for after completing the adaptation period or the aptitude test.

You can usually decide whether to complete the adaptation period or the aptitude test. If the adaptation period or the aptitude test is the only option or if you have to complete them both, this is stated in the decision.

Complete the adaptation period by working in your profession in Finland. The decision determines the position in which you have to complete the adaptation period and how long the period will be. You must find a workplace where you can complete the adaptation period yourself.

If the decision states that the supervisor of the adaptation period must have certain qualifications, also agree on the supervisor with the employer.

After the adaptation period, ask the employer to fill in the details of the adaptation period in the application form for a final decision. In addition, request a separate certificate of completion of the adaptation period.
