A guide to reinforcing democratic participation and preventing hate speech and violent radicalisation

School should be a safe place where every member of the school community feels valued and capable of influencing common issues.

This publication offers thoughts on ethics, human rights, democratic competences, stronger participation, mediation and cooperation between schools and the police. The central idea is that pupils should also learn to discuss difficult and controversial issues in a constructive and critical manner while respecting others.

A school community that supports its pupils prevents them from marginalisation and drifting towards supporting extremist movements.
