FinCEED seeks an experienced specialist on inclusive education to be seconded to support the Gender Equality and Inclusion Practice of GPE on the inclusion of children with diverse needs into education systems, in particular (but not limited to) children with disabilities.
Duration and modalities of work
- 12 months, full-time. The duty station of the position is Washington D.C., USA.
- Starting date preferably during April, 2025 or as agreed with the selected candidate.

- Master’s degree, or PhD preferred, in economics, education, special education, development studies, or a related field.
- At least 8 years’ experience in international education; especially in supporting education sector reforms for the most marginalized children, policy making and implementation of education policies at country level in developing contexts.
- Experience in inclusive education for children with disabilities and ideally one or more other sub-thematic areas of inclusion, such as inclusion of refugee children into national systems, supporting access for out-of-school children, and/or other individual or location-based inequities.
- Fluency in English and good command of Finnish required, proficiency in French desired
Compensation
- Base salary 4404,90 euro per month, added with a personal monthly bonus of maximum 50% depending on the competence and experience of the selected candidate (based on salary table by the Finnish National Agency for Education). Typically for a new employee the personal monthly bonus is between 18.5-23%.

The Senior Inclusive Education Specialist will be recruited to the Centre of Expertise in Education and Development established under the Finnish National Agency for Education and then seconded to GPE. GPE together with FinCEED will conduct the interviews for this position with the successful shortlisted candidates, preliminarily scheduled for 26-28 February, 2025.
