Participating in early childhood education and care as well as education offers the whole family an opportunity to get to know other families as well as support and possibilities to learn the language and integrate into Finnish society.
In Finnish early childhood education and care, the child will receive:
- Instruction through play as well as support and guidance for learning provided by teachers with a higher education degree.
- An opportunity to learn Finnish or Swedish.
- Meals during the day.
- Friends of their own age and a community that supports a safe everyday life and promotes the child’s well-being.
In Finnish education, a child will receive:
- An opportunity to learn in one of the world's best education systems which pupils and students enjoy attending.
- Education and instruction provided by teachers with a higher education degree.
- Free education, a hot meal daily, and support and guidance for learning.
- Friends of their own age and a community that supports a safe everyday life and promotes the child’s well-being.
- Finnish or Swedish language skills that open doors in Finland.
- An occupation if they complete vocational education and training, and a general education if they complete general upper secondary education. Both qualifications mean that they can apply for a study place in a higher education institution in Finland.
