Support for the internationalisation of higher education


The Finnish National Agency for Education supports international cooperation between higher education institutions through different funding programmes. An essential part of both the internationally and nationally financed programmes is network cooperation.

Erasmus+ Programme for Higher Education

HEI ICI Programme

The Higher Education Institutions Institutional Cooperation Instrument (HEI ICI) supports cooperation projects between higher education institutions in Finland and the developing world that are designed to enhance higher education provision in these countries.

Nordic Master

The Nordic Master programme internationalises higher education in the Nordic Region through high-quality joint Master’s programmes. These programmes enable the collaboration of Nordic and non-Nordic students from Europe and beyond.
