Higher education as catalyst for development: teacher education, innovations and climate
Finland has supported partnerships between 11 higher education institutions (HEIs) in Finland, 14 in Asia and 31 in Africa through the development cooperation programme HEI ICI. The HEI ICI programme has contributed to well-functioning, relevant and accessible higher education for students.
During the period 2020−2024, nine projects were supported with a the total budget of €12.4 million and they worked on three thematic priorities: teacher education, innovations and climate action.
This report outlines the results of the 9 projects: the new or revised study programmes and courses, new pedagogical methods and tools, collaboration to support the digital transition in higher education, as well as university-industry collaboration.
The HEI ICI programme was managed by the Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI) and financed through the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
