Outcomes of language learning at the end of basic education in 2013
In early 2013, the Finnish National Board of Education carried out a sample-based evaluation of foreign languages and syllabus A for Swedish. Its purpose was to find out how students had fulfilled the learning objectives set out in the national core curriculum in 2004 by the time they were about to complete basic education. The assessment covered the most common languages learned in basic education: English, Swedish, French, German and Russian.
Syllabus A (advanced) was assessed in English and Swedish, and both A and B (short) syllabuses were assessed in the other languages.
