International mobility period here refers to a period of study or traineeship abroad that is recognised as part of student’s ongoing studies at a home institution (credit mobility). Statistics include only periods lasting 3 months or more. Mobility in the framework of exchange programmes and organised by the students themselves (free movers) are both included. International degree mobility here refers to students who enrolls at a higher education institution (HEI) abroad in order to complete a full degree programme. Statistics on international full degree students in Finnish HEIs are from Statistics Finland. Statistics on Finnish full degree students going abroad are from Social Insurance Institution statistics on study grant.
