Information point on study opportunities in Finland for those fleeing Ukraine
The content of the site is collected in co-operation with the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland, the Rectors’ councils of Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences Unifi and Arene, as well as Finnish higher education institutions. The objective of the site is that a person looking for alternative study and research options can get the information on what opportunities and support is available in Finland from one place.
Finnish higher education institutions want to support students suffering from the war by offering the possibility to apply for a separate study right for those whose studies in a Ukrainian university have been interrupted. Open Universities are also offering Ukrainian citizens the possibility to take courses free-of-charge.
The newly launched website provides, for the time being, information on non-degree and open university study opportunities available, as well as on some support measures for researchers. New information will be added as it becomes available.
A Frequently Asked Questions section will also be added to the site, including answers to general questions about studies for people fleeing from Ukraine. The Finnish higher education institutions responsible for SIMHE services (Supporting Immigrants in Higher Education in Finland) are involved in producing the FAQ section and providing the advisory services.
