Erasmus+ offers organisations a wide range of opportunities for internationalisation, networking and learning. A variety of organisations from day-care centres to higher education institutions, youth centres to museums, and sports clubs to companies can apply for funding. In the field of youth, informal groups of young people can also apply for funding. Explore all of the opportunities and think about what benefits Erasmus+ can offer you and your organisation! 

Erasmus+ funds projects that promote internationalisation in the fields of education, training, youth and sport.

There are two ways to apply for funding:

  • from the Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI), which is the National Agency for the Erasmus+ programme 
  • from EACEA, European Education and Culture Executive Agency (Brussels).

The instructions on this page apply to Erasmus+ funding awarded by the Executive Agency EACEA.

Project funding from the Erasmus+ programme can be applied by 

  • an organisation; for example, an educational institution, a higher education institution, a municipality, company or an NGO
  • an organisation and an informal group of young people (Erasmus+ for youth)

Individual persons cannot apply for a grant. The organisations or informal groups of young people applying for funding select the participants for their projects themselves.

When you apply, take the following matters into account:

Financial and operational conditions

If your project is awarded a grant to the amount of EUR 60,000 or more, the Executive Agency will verify that you have the financial capacity to implement the project. If necessary, they will also ask you to provide additional information.

No double-funding from the EU 

  • you cannot apply for funding for projects that have already been completed or, as a rule, for projects that are already under way
  • the project applying for funding must not receive other simultaneous EU grants for its implementation.

Applications drawn up by external parties will be rejected

  • your application will be rejected if it has been copied and/or the same application has been sent to several National Agencies
  • applications drawn up by organisations or persons outside the project will be rejected.

EU Login username

First of all, you should obtain an EU Login username. The username enables you to log into the registration systems and the application portal, among other things.

Once you have obtained the EU Login username, you can register in the European Commission’s participant system.

If you have obtained the EU Login username before, it is still valid.

Participation Identification Code (PIC)

When you apply for project funding under Erasmus+ from the European Commission’s Executive Agency EACEA, all organisations or informal groups of young people participating in your project must register and obtain a participant code, the PIC (Participation Identification Code).

If you have obtained the PIC before, it is still valid.

All grants applied for from the Executive Agency EACEA are published in the European Commission’s Funding and Tender Opportunities Portal. You will find the instructions for applying and the links to the forms of open calls in connection with each separate call.

We also publish the Executive Agency’s open calls in EDUFI’s funding releases calendar.

An online application is used to apply for all grants in the Erasmus+ programme. You can complete the application using the most common and latest web browsers. However, we recommend that you do not use Internet Explorer.

The submission deadline for applications sent to the Executive Agency is always at 18.00 Finnish time (17.00 CET) on the last day of submission.

Quality evaluation

The application will be given assessed according to the Commission’s evaluation criteria.

Notification of the results

  • all applicants will be notified of the results within 4–6 months from the submission deadline, depending on the action
  • all applicants will receive instructions on how to appeal against the decision to the Executive Agency.

Grant agreement

  • the grant agreement is signed between the Executive Agency and the beneficiary. The Executive Agency gives instructions to all projects that have been awarded a grant.

Publication of grant decisions

  • a list of the projects that have been awarded a grant will be published on the Executive Agency's website
  • information on projects that did not receive a grant will not be published.
