New generations of European farmers face numerous challenges: climate-related (mitigation and adaptation), environmental (agroecological transition), societal (animal welfare, organic and local food), economic, and demographic challenges, linked to workforce renewal, European food sovereignty, and the preservation of the European model of family farming

These issues – threats, but also opportunities – lie at the heart of the concerns and strategies of the European Commission and EU member states

The TCA should promote the development of new Erasmus+ partnership projects that deliver a European added value and achieve outcomes to address these issues.

Democracy in Action: Empowering IVET Learners for a Resilient Europe

Rooma 4.-6.11.2026

VET stands out for its heterogeneity in how democratic competences are integrated. National differences, dual systems, and the central role of companies as learning environments create a fragmented picture. Yet VET is not only a provider of labour‑market skills: it is also a key component of the broader education system, preparing learners to become active, responsible citizens. This is especially true for IVET learners—young people still developing the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes needed to participate in modern democratic workplaces and communities.

It is therefore essential to reflect on how European VET systems can ensure that learners, particularly in IVET, acquire strong democratic and preparedness competences, and the ability to adapt the professional profiles to the diverse challenges Europe faces daily. In this regard, Erasmus+ can play a strategic enabling role by offering opportunities to:

  • co‑develop innovative approaches integrating CDC competences and preparedness elements into curricula;
  • strengthen the professional development of teachers and in‑company trainers, equipping them with tools to foster democratic and resilience‑building skills;
  • enhance coherence between school‑based and company‑based learning, ensuring both contribute meaningfully to learners’ preparedness and democratic competences.

Greening VET: Building Skills for Europe’s Green Transition

Rooma 2.-4.12.2026

The TCA “Greening VET” addresses VET experts, educators, project coordinators, and other VET professionals with the aim to:

  • stimulate transnational reflection and exchange of experience on the role that Erasmus+ Programme played so far in defining strategic green skills to support the sustainable competitiveness of the European labour market. This will also be based on the results of a survey carried out by the Erasmus+ Agency INAPP on the contribution of KA2 Erasmus+ projects to the development of green skills.
  • nurture discussion on the new policy perspectives in EU in terms of sustainable economy and how the next Erasmus+ cycle can consistently address these new policy trends.

Transforming Education through Digital Pedagogy and AI - Educator Agency for Systemic Change

Helsinki 9.- 11.12.2026

Artificial intelligence is transforming education systems, pedagogical practices, and organisational development across Europe. At the same time, education providers are facing increasing needs to strengthen digital competences, support AI literacy, and develop sustainable approaches for integrating AI into teaching, learning, and educational leadership.

This thematic TCA event brings together representatives of education providers’ leadership, management and pedagogical developers from the School Education (SE) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) sectors to explore how AI and digital pedagogy can support systemic change in education.

The seminar focuses on the transition from policy discussions to more practical framework implementation.

Regional Skills, European Connections: Erasmus+ VET for a Changing Labour Market

Bad Gastein 30.11.-2.12.2026

The thematic contact seminar is aimed at teachers, trainers, Erasmus+ coordinators and other staff from VET schools and training providers. The seminar explores how VET can respond to changing skills needs and how Erasmus+ can support this process through European cooperation.

The seminar will focus on the guiding question: How can VET schools and businesses work together to respond to the specific skills needs of their regions?

Bad Gastein and the wider Pongau region will serve as a case region, allowing participants to explore different regional economic realities and their implications for vocational education and training. Examples from tourism and mountain infrastructure, industrial production and technology, and the digital sector will provide insights into how businesses and VET providers respond to skills shortages, technological change and emerging skills needs.
